John Scott 3 is a produced screenwriter, director, D.P., and engineer for one of NASA’s flagship satellite observatories.

Long before any successes in Hollywood, John spent five years in the U.S. Air Force as a satellite systems operator for multiple missions. After finishing his education in cinema and photography, he joined the Chandra X-ray Observatory project, and for the past decade, he’s led a planning team responsible for science that changes how we look at our universe.

When not looking out at the stars, John makes films. His 2011 Blacklist script MAGGIE (starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and Abigail Breslin) premiered at Tribeca and was released in May 2015. John’s feature work ranges from collaborations with Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman to projects with New Regency, Lionsgate, Sony, and Warner Bros.

His love of storytelling eventually spread into television, where he sold pilots to Fox TV and CBS TV and worked as a staff writer on a JJ Abrams collaboration with HBO.
